Half plate Daguerreotype by John Werge in red, moroccan leather case with red velvet interior. The mat is stamped "J.Werge" and "Monteith Rooms, Glasgow". Werge was the owner/ manager of the Monteith Rooms in 1855 after, previously working for Jabez Hughes. The Monteith rooms were damaged by fire and a lot of Werge's work was lost.
