Letter Excerpt: 'A special lens made for Radiography, approximately 34 lenses were made between 1954 and 1959. Your lens was despatched to Marconi Ltd. on 14th April 1959. The original optical design was carried out in 1938 as a projection lens. There appears to be no information on the data sheet concerning the format coverage. The lens was used with a large single element field lens for the radiography applications, details are not avaliable for this.'

Note: Apparently Marconi now (1978) use Leitz's Noctilux f/1 50mm lens
