C.1810, of trunk form with single drawer below, rosewood with ebony stringing and brass carrying handles to either side, trunk top with fitted compartments with various bottles, eyebath etc, and a medicine measure and glass syringe, both in turned wooden cases, drawer below with scales, apothecary weights, a funnel, spoons and measure etc, lid containing an early, probably original list of medicines with their appropriate dosages, a further label in the lid reads 'Medicine Chest used by Revd. john Fox Palmer (1773-1838) while at Worcester College, Oxford', width 30.5cm
