Comprising of a prismatic sighting compass, English, c.1910, signed on the green floating compass card 'J Hicks 8 Hatton Garden London' and engraved on the top for the owner 'E. H. Harvey' the compass with prismatic viewer, diameter 7cm; a small fob style compass with printed white card compass dial,

Footnote: The Compass by J Hicks is signed E. H. Harvey most likely to be Private Ernest Herbert Harvey, a farmer from Australia, who lost his life in France on August 16 1916 while serving in the military. Before his enlistment, Private Harvey was actively involved in farming on the Peninsula. He embarked for the front in October and initially served in Egypt before being later transferred to France.
