A Cased Pair of Flintlock Pocket Pistols by Beddows, English, c.1790, 4cm turnoff barrels (one seized), engraving to both sides of boxlocks stamped 'Beddows' to the LHS 'Ridgewell' to the RHS, ringnecked cocks both function soundly to 1/2 and full cock, which also actions the concealed triggers, hinged strike plates, functioning sliding safety catches, London proofs to lower aspect of the barrel housing, slab sided walnut grips each with initialled white metal escutcheon to the rear, in fitted wooden case with original brass powder flask, metal mould, ebonised rod with screw off end revealing a brass worm, several lead balls, cleaning tow, case 28.5cm across
