An Unusual Daguerreotype Sliding Box Camera

unmarked, with 'Daguerreotype Style' brass lens, body, F, lens, F-G, complete with ground glass screen and one dark slide; Rear section and slide appear to be of very high quality and construction of around 1840-1850, however base and front section are of lesser quality wood and construction methods. Lens appears to have been constructed from a later Petzval design
