Surgical Instruments - From the Down Brothers Museum
comprising of:
A chrome plated Aspirator needles and hose, c.1890, the pump marked 'DOWN BROS LONDON' in a mahogany case with pencil notes concerning the construction of the case, case width 29cm
A Humby Razor, c.1910, stamped 'Down England' with original packing, in polished wooden case marked 'HUMBY RAZOR' case 38.5cm
Provenance - This is part of a collection of medical and surgical instruments once belonging to a past employee of the esteemed Down Brothers surgical instrument company, these captivating artifacts offer a glimpse into a bygone era.
When the company's doors closed, a large amount of sales samples and items from the design department were disposed of. These items here are all that was saved and all that remains of the original sales and design stock. These instruments were never used hence their remarkable condition
