English, c.1848, engraved on the foot L Casella & Co, London, the microscope on a brass lacquered tripod foot, tall upright pillar supports the body on a compass-type joint, with concave mirror in a gimbal, Tully-tpe mechanical stage with X-Y control, rotating slide holder, rack and pinion focus to triangular sectioned bar, set contains 3 early achromatic objectives in cans and a simple objective in a silvered Leiberkuhn with other accessories, all in the original fitted French polished mahogany case, width 25cm
