A large Gunners Quadrant by Thomas Wright

English 2nd quarter of 18th Century, engraved along th index arm ‘Made by Tho Wright, Instrument Maker to his MAJESTY’ with foliate engraving to each side, engraved along the elevation scale 0-90 with second quadrant scale to the reverse engraved to be used with a plumb line suspended from the small turned leg, length along long side 38.5cm

Footnote: according to Clifton Thomas Wright (I) was working between 1718 and 1747, he was appointed instrument maker to George II, none of his sons had any royal appointment or other connection.

Estimated at £4,000 - £6,000
