English, oak ….. trunk-type chest with brass and japanned metal finishes, the lifting lid to compartments housing four large, five medium, nine smaller bottles with stoppers, some with chamois covers (six replacement bottles), with a brass retaining rod to draw beneath with compartments containing a ceramic mortar and pestle, four small glass bottles with stoppers and chamois covers, two with ‘JAMES ROBERTSON & COY 35 GEORGE ST. EDINBURGH’ paper content labels, two white ceramic ointment pots with the aforementioned retailer’s content labels, and a graduated glass measure, handheld brass balance and weights and a booklet ‘Domestic Medicine’ by S. Maw Son & Thompson – 32.5cm. x 18cm. x 25cm.
